Migros, Coop, and the Swiss German you need for a checkout

You have two main supermarkets. You need to know which is cheaper for what, and the three words the cashier will say to you.

Migros is slightly cheaper, does not sell alcohol, and has the best in-house brands. Coop is a touch more expensive, sells wine and spirits, and has more premium ranges.

Both close on Sunday. Train station branches (Migros or Coop Pronto) open longer and on Sundays, at a premium.

At checkout the cashier says: Grüezi (hello), Braucht's e Sackli? (do you need a bag, always yes = ja bitte), and Zahle Sie bar oder mit Karte? (cash or card). Say Mit Karte and tap. That is the whole script.
