Swiss work culture, in three words

Punctual, precise, direct. The rest follows.

Punctual: five minutes early is on time. On time is late. If you are running late, message the meeting before the clock strikes, not after.

Precise: numbers, dates, and commitments are kept as stated. Vague enthusiasm reads as unreliable.

Direct: Swiss colleagues will tell you exactly what they think, quietly, without softening it. Do not read that as rude. Return the favour.

The upside: contracts are honoured, roles are respected, and you rarely work weekends unless something has actually broken.

Set your calendar to Zurich local time everywhere. Missed meetings from timezone confusion are the classic first-month mistake.
